This trip was extra special, for so many reasons. This was the first time we got to spend our vacation with family and then have friends join us half way through...these people, along with many others, are huge supporters in our lives. Whether it's the volunteer work we do within our community and abroad, our own professional work, or simply just being champions of our lives...we are blessed to have them.

Our first week, we got to spend time with our family from Chris's side. Such an adventure, especially with the two little ones...they always bring the energy and fun, while being some of the sweetest boys to spend time with. They're going to be great cousins...I mean, look at those smiles!

FUN FUN FUN

We got to fly out together, spend time on the beaches, snorkel, check out waterfalls, drink fresh coconut jucie...

ride the train along the plantation, feed the farm animals, get shaved ice, go to a luau, rode an ATV around the island, played games, kayaked around Hanalei bay, enjoyed some live music, hiked and explored a cave, saw tortoises, took a boat ride, and ended the first week at one of our favorite restaurants...Dukes! (the original)

The SECOND wave of FUN!

Some of our good friends joined us for our second week and the adventures continued! We started the week off with a delicious dinner on our favorite beachfront restaurant and also got to enjoy an Annual Polynesian and fire knife competition...and then set sail in tubes down the old irrigation tunnels that were used for the sugar canes...

(probably one of my favorite things to do on the island...super relaxing!)

Unfortunately, after the tubing...our tire on the rental popped, but luckily we have experience changing tires...so no big deal. We did so many things like snorkeling, fern grotto tours, a beautiful luau on the beach (so much fun!), explored the north shore, watched wind surfers, went to Taco Bell (hahaha Chris's fav!), went on the Kauai Safari, watched some sea turtles and hawaiian monk seals sleep on the beach, did a tour of the Napali coast, and lastly...went ziplining!...which I did NOT want to do, but was so happy I did it. Such an incredible experience!

(I guess we played with T-Rex's too hahaha)

This was special because we got to dream of all the fun things we could experience and share with our future child...it's the memories made and the time spent that are important to us. Family, friends, and love. We are blessed to have the love around us that we do and can't wait to grow that. Mahalo Kauai for the memories...and Mahalo to you for taking the time to read this. Aloha!
